Silestone by Cosentino

Silestone is Cosentino's engineered quartz surface, made by combining natural minerals with resin binders under high pressure. It's produced in Spain and sold in a wide range of colours and finishes, and it's one of the most established quartz brands used for kitchen worktops.

Hybriq+ is Cosentino's manufacturing process that replaces some of the quartz content with a mix of premium minerals and recycled materials. It reduces the amount of crystalline silica in the finished surface while keeping the same strength, colour consistency and resistance to everyday wear.

Yes. Thanks to Hybriq+ technology, Silestone surfaces contain a maximum of 40% crystalline silica, and some colours in the range contain as little as 10%. This is significantly lower than many traditional quartz worktops, which can contain 90% or more.

No. Silestone is non-porous, so it doesn't need sealing, waxing or any special treatment to stay resistant to staining. A simple wipe-down with warm water and mild detergent is all it needs.

Most Silestone colours are available in a Polished finish, which gives a glossy, reflective surface. Many are also available in Suede, a soft matt finish with a tactile feel, and a small number of colours offer Volcano, a rough, richly textured finish.

Silestone is typically available in 12mm, 20mm and 30mm thicknesses, with large-format slabs around 3270 x 1590mm (exact dimensions vary by colour and slab). We'll confirm the options for your chosen colour when you get in touch.

Silestone is highly resistant to scratches, stains and everyday knocks, making it a practical choice for busy kitchens. Like any quartz surface, it's not fully heatproof, so we'd always recommend using a trivet or mat under hot pans.
